Uday Lāl,
Dastūr al-siyāq
[Preliminary Entry] Uday Lāl worked as a revenue officer of the Awadh princely state under Sa‘ādat ‘Alī Ḫān (r. 1798-1814). He wrote the Dastūr al-siyāq (1226/1811), where he translated, from Sanskrit or Hindi, the sections dealing with methods for measuring land and revenue assessment of a work on mathematics, the Buddhiprakāśa.
