Żiyā’ Muḥammad Mas‘ūd Rašīd Zangī ‘Umar Ġaznawī,
Majmū‘a-yi Żiyā’
[Preliminary Entry] The Majmū‘a-yi Żiyā’ (Collection of Żiyā’) was written by Żiyā’ Muḥammad Mas‘ūd Rašīd Zangī ‘Umar Ġaznawī at Dawlatabad (in the Deccan) a few years after that the city has become the new capital of the sultan of Delhi, Muḥammad ibn Tuġluq (r. 1325-1351). It a general treatise dealing with numerous medical topics. It includes a chapter (xli) on Indian medicine, said to be based on the teachings (guftār) of Nāgārjuna and other yogis, which illustrates the preparation and the uses of the oxides of different metals.
