Ġunyat al-munya
[Preliminary Entry] The Ġunyat al-munya is a treatise on Indian music composed in Gujarat in 776/1374-75. The name of the author is not known. It was written at the request of the governor of Gujarat Malik Šams al-Dīn Ibrāhim Ḥasan Abū Rajā. It is divided in two parts (qism). The first is on song (surūd) and musical instruments (mazāmir), and the second is on dance (raqs) and on the rules to be followed during the musical assembly (šarā’iṭ-i ādāb-i majlis). It has been illustrated.
